INITIAL TRADING STATEMENT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 28 FEBRUARY 2026
In terms of paragraph 6.26 of the JSE Listings Requirements, companies are required to publish
a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that a reasonable degree of certainty exists
that the financial results for the period to be reported on will differ by at least 20% from the
published financial results for the previous corresponding period or a profit forecast previously
provided to the market in relation to such period.
Shareholders are referred to the announcement published on 26 March 2026, wherein the
company advised of a number of potential adjustments in relation to the year ended
28 February 2026. These adjustments are expected to have a material impact on the results.
However, the impact will be partly offset by a higher weighted average number of shares in
issue compared to the prior period. Furthermore, in the prior year, the results contained a large
taxation credit for deferred tax as well as a positive fair value adjustment.
Accordingly, shareholders are advised as follows:
- basic and diluted earnings per share are expected to be more than 20% lower than the
basic and diluted earnings per share of 0.62 cents reported for the previous corresponding
period, and
- headline earnings per share are expected to be more than 20% higher than the basic and
diluted headline earnings per share of 0.39 cents reported for the previous corresponding
period.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed nor
reported on by the Group's auditors.
