DISCLOSURE OF BENEFICIAL INTERESTS IN SECURITIES

In accordance with section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008 and section 3.83(b) of the JSE
Limited Listings Requirements, shareholders are hereby advised that Astral Foods has received formal
notification that clients of Allan Gray Proprietary Limited ("Allan Gray") have, in aggregate, disposed of an
interest in the ordinary shares of the Company, such that the total interest in the ordinary shares of the
Company held by Allan Gray's clients now amounts to 4.05126% of the total issued ordinary shares of the
Company.

The board of directors of Astral Foods ("Board") accepts responsibility for the information contained in this
announcement and confirms that, to the best of their knowledge and belief, such information is true and this
announcement does not omit anything likely to affect the importance of such information. The Board has relied
on the accuracy of the information contained in the notification received from Allan Gray in making this
statement.

Astral Foods, as required by section 122(3)(a) of the Companies Act, has filed the required notices with the
Takeover Regulation Panel.
