NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF BOARD MEMBERSHIP


uMngeni–uThukela Water (UUW) hereby informs stakeholders that the Minister of the Department of Water and Sanitation
(DWS), the Honourable Minister Pemmy Majodina, has terminated Mr. Khanyisani Stanley Shandu's appointment as a
member of the uMngeni–uThukela Water Board, with effect from 28 November 2025.


The termination follows the outcomes of a forensic investigation instituted by the Minister, which identified non-compliance
with governance requirements relating to the declaration of business interests. These obligations are prescribed in terms of
the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), the principles of King IV on Corporate Governance, and the uMngeni–uThukela
Water Board Charter.


Consequently, Mr Shandu has been formally removed from his position as Chairperson of Umgeni Water Services (UWS), a
subsidiary of uMngeni–uThukela Water.


The Board and Management of uMngeni–uThukela Water remain committed to the highest standards of ethical leadership,
transparency, and accountability, and will ensure continuity in governance and operations in line with all applicable legislative
and governance frameworks.
