DISCLOSURE OF ACQUISITION OF BENEFICIAL INTERESTS IN SECURITIES IN MTN GROUP

MTN Group received a notification of disclosure from Ninety One SA (Pty) Ltd advising that it has acquired
a beneficial interest in the securities of MTN Group, such that the total of all beneficial interests held by
Ninety One SA (Pty) Ltd (on behalf of their underlying clients) is now 5.0992% of the issued ordinary share
capital of MTN Group.

This disclosure is in terms of section 122 of the Companies Act 71 of 2008, as amended and Regulation
121 of the Companies Regulations, 2011 and paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements.

The board of directors of MTN Group accepts responsibility for the information contained in this
announcement and confirms that, to the best of its knowledge and belief, such information accurately
reflects the information contained in the TRP 121.1 form received by MTN Group from Ninety One SA
(Pty) Ltd and that this announcement does not omit anything likely to affect the importance of the
